The El Valle Community Center occupies the old Villanueva School building, built in the 1940s to replace a one room school house. After the school closed its doors in the 1970s, community effort revitalized the building, turning it into a community center under the leadership of Patricia Gallegos.
The building also houses the Villanueva David F. Cargo Library, named for the former governor. Operating as a single unit, the library and the center are now used for community and educational activities. Comments are closed.
