Storytelling in New Mexico

​Storytelling is unique in its blended use of language, voice, and movement to engage listeners, convey narrative flow and express feeling as it both captures and communicates the past. For many, storytelling is a profession, a way of life, and a practice that links people to place and threads generations together. The traditional communities of New Mexico have strong storytelling traditions and value story as a key mode of sharing, shaping, and preserving their culture.
