COMMUNITY PHOTOS & VIDEOS
If there is a public event here at the center or in the valley we like to document it with still images and video whenever possible.
We will post on our Facebook page, sharing it with other valley FB groups and share them here also. The videos are on our youtube channel. A few of the images will accompany a description of the event.
Louis (Luis) Bustos was born November 8, 1896 and died August 11, 1979 at the age of 82. A pillar of the community and lifelong resident of Villanueva NM with an unwavering dedication, Louis devoted his life to helping others. He was a key element in bringing the El Valle Fire Station to the valley, working with local and state officials. He worked tirelessly as a farmer, a custodian at the Capital of NM, and contributed countless hours to the creation of the Gruta, a landmark that overlooks our beloved Villanueva. The plaque was placed with respect in this fire station as a testament to his dedication, compassion, and the love he had for all people. Louis Bustos was well known and cherished, leaving a legacy that lives on in the hearts of all who knew him.
The dedication was held at the El Valle Fire Station. The reception was hosted at the center. Frito pies and hot dogs were served.

This year's Fiesta for Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish in Villanueva NM honored the stitchers of the Tapestry that lines the interior walls of the church. It was the 50th anniversary. The woman, and the son of man who framed each piece of tapestry, who came to the event participate in the mass and were recognized both in the church and at the fiesta. Out of the 35 stitchers only 14 remain alive.
The fiesta started with mass at 10am and ended at 7pm with the announcement of the cash raffle winners. The fiesta is held every year on the feast day. All are welcome. Volunteers are always needed.
There was food booths, cake walk, silent auction, cash raffle, games, ice cream, funnel cake, lots of great music and awesome dancing.

Easter Egg Hunt of 2026 brought the children of the valley out of their homes and into the parking lot of the center to find filled plastic eggs, some with candy, some with money, some with toys. Once all the eggs were collected the children came in for photos with the Easter Bunny, snow cones and were given a gift.
This is an annual event. All children of the valley are welcomed. We also do a Christmas Party for the children in December each year.
