Resources with contact info

This is the state resource for all things senior, age-wise. Find info on adult protective services, consumer & elder rights, a resource center for aging and disability, long-term care, financial assistance and training for family caregivers, an ombudsman to assist in resolving concerns and so much more. Here is a general phone number 800-432-2080.

This federal government website can give you information on SNAP, WIC, school meals, disaster food assistance, breastfeeding support, help for military/veteren families, nutrition assistance, benefits of older adult and more.

This is the state SNAP website. You can sign up here. There is also info on the commodity supplemental program, EBT (electronic benefits transfer) and emergency food assistance. Find out about BeWell, Turquoise care, sun bucks, rural health care delivery fund and more. This is a phone number for clients and customers to speak to an agent M-F 7am to 6:30pm: 800-283-4465.

Want to use your WIC & Senior Farmers Market Card? This website has all the details of how and where you can do that. There is a list of eligible foods, market locations, and a way to download the solimarket app and a video to teach you how to use your card with the app.

LIHEAD assists eligible persons and families with their heating and cooling costs. Fill out the application and submit online or print it out and return it to your caseworker. Notification can take 45 days.

  • Lunch: Served congregate-style from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (suggested donation of $1.50 for seniors 60 and older).

  • Support: Transportation services, home-delivered meals, and health promotion programs.

NM Crisis & Access Line

If you are having an emergency call 911, but if you are feeling overwhelmed, struggling with stress, or just need someone to talk to they have trained professionals that are ready to listen 24/7. It's free and completely confidencial. Just type in 988 to your phone and connect with these supportive services.

NM Peer to Peer
Warmline

This is a service of the NM Crisis and Access Line and remains committed to providing compassionate peer support to New Mexicans.

Call 1-855-466-7100 daily from 3pm to 11:30pm. This is a safe space and they can help with resources. You can talk with a certified peer support worker who has faced their own challenges and are now trained to help others. If you aren't yet in distress but just want to talk to someone who will understand call the warmline. 

United Way
211

This is the 211 Helpline that connects the community to vital resources. This is NOT an emergency service, but rather can connect you with local resources like mental health, senior services, or family crisis. They will provide free referrals to health and human services, government agencies, and community-based organizations. Type in 211 in your phone to connect to this service
